Speaker Spotlight: Arjun Sahgal, M.D.

Arjun Sahgal, M.D.The Gamma Knife Center’s upcoming 2014 Symposium is pleased to feature speaker Arjun Sahgal, M.D., who will present “Stereotactic Radiosurgery Alone for Patients with Brain Metastasis: Rationale for Withholding Whole Brain Radiation Therapy.”

Dr. Sahgal currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. He also is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Surgery at the University of Toronto. A recipient of numerous awards and recognition for his work in radiation medicine and oncology, Dr. Sahgal is currently involved in research initiatives that evaluate the use of stereotactic body radiotherapy for conditions including spinal tumors and brain metastases.

Dr. Sahgal has lent his extensive clinical knowledge to the American College of Radiology, the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology and the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, among other medical societies. He has served these and other organizations in roles ranging from Participating Member and Medical Advisor to Board Member.
