Gamma Knife Center Physicists Attain Specialized Certification

Chih-Ming Lo, M.Sc., Medical Physicist at The Gamma Knife Center, recently attended the Principles and Practice of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery—Special Emphasis on Perfexion Training certification course at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery. He is the third physicist at The Valley Hospital to complete this radiosurgery education.

This certification enables physicists to perform treatment planning for Valley’s gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery patients, giving them more in-depth knowledge about radiation physics and radiobiology as they apply to single-session, focused, small-volume radiation treatment.
