The Valley Gamma Knife Center has been selected to participate in the national Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) Registry, a joint effort of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the American Society for Radiation Oncology. The Valley Gamma Knife Center is 1 of only 30 elite, high-volume healthcare sites that have been selected to join this registry.
The center will provide the SRS Registry with de-identified SRS treatment information for patients who have brain metastases, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and benign brain tumors. This collection of data will help establish national benchmarks for SRS treatment, which, in turn, will enable healthcare providers and their patients to make better informed treatment decisions. Other goals of the registry include improving SRS outcomes and potentially lowering the cost of care.
