The Valley Hospital Gamma Knife Center is proud to offer social work services to patients and their families. We understand that dealing with a serious illness can be stressful. Our licensed clinical social worker is here to address your concerns and find ways to help you cope with your diagnosis and treatment.
The social worker can provide supportive counseling; serve as a patient advocate; help patients locate community resources; assist with problem solving; and address patients’ concerns. Coordination of follow-up care and palliative care services are also available.
In an effort to treat the whole person, the social worker can also refer patients to integrative healing services such as massage therapy, guided imagery and relaxation, yoga, tai chi and support groups.
For more information or to schedule an appointment with a social worker, call our Nurse Navigator, Susan Lombardo, R.N., at 201-634-5677.
