Suite music

A healing atmosphere—that’s what patients notice that’s unlike other treatment facilities when they walk through the doors of The Gamma Knife Center. Along with its mood lighting and soothing colors and décor, the center also uses music to help instill a feeling of calm.

“People entering the center are immediately greeted with soothing sounds to help set the tone. Patients love it!” says Deborah Panetta, Director of Radiation Oncology at The Valley Hospital. “Many times, patients fall asleep in the treatment room just because it’s so relaxing.”

Patient “quiet rooms” and the actual treatment room include Bose sound systems complete with CD players and iPod docking stations. Patients are encouraged to bring their own music selections, another unique feature of the center.

“Patients are amazed by the special touches!” Panetta says.
